Miasma from the Marshes

Miasma from the Marshes is a two-channel video installation exploring the porous boundaries between nature and human-built environments. A slow, meditative camera movement guides the viewer through the decaying interior of a palace and its surrounding garden. Close-ups reveal dampness on the walls, fungi blooming in the shadows, and ants walking undisturbed across the floors.

Though seemingly kept at bay, nature silently infiltrates the constructed world. Despite efforts to separate and protect our spaces from organic processes, the natural world gradually reclaims them—quietly and inevitably. The work reflects on fragility, decay, and the illusion of control, showing how the garden itself becomes a space where nature is framed but never fully contained.
